What's this all about?

David has been imprisoned in Martinique for a crime he has not committed. It is a heinous crime and I understand that the Martinique Police and Courts have to be very thorough in their investigations. However, to incarcerate someone who hasn't been charged with a crime, in a European Union Country is truly barbaric.

He appeared in Court without our knowledge, and according to the British Embassy without their knowledge. Indeed we weren't told until some 10 days after his arrest that he was in prison, otherwise we could have possibly made the necessary arrangements for him to have a Martinique address, paid the bail fee and David could be living a more normal life, instead he is in a penal institution being treated exactly the same as any other prisoner i.e. murderers, rapists and thieves.

After more than 603 days he has not been given his own clothes back. For a long time, had no money to purchase daily necessities and we struggled to get instructions on how to send him money. He is locked in his cell for 20 hours a day. We still have no confirmation, after more than 86 weeks that these problems have been remedied.
